Busy, busy, busy!

Wow, this year is really turning out to be my best yet for my career! I’ve been asked to build a team for one of my main clients. I will be leading a team of developers, and I’m really excited about it!!

I decided to hire local developers only, because Austin is full of great people and developers alike so I was thinking “shoot, why the heck not?!”.. I’ve worked with other remote developers before and I know how that goes! It would be cool to find some peeps just getting out of coding boot-camp, and looking for freelance work to help out with these projects that I’m overwhelmed with.

My philosophy is this: If I build a team locally, I can manage my team more effectively. I don’t want to bother managing someone halfway across the country. How can I trust them to be honest and loyal? I’ve been burned working with incompetent freelancers before, and I’m at a point where I just have zero tolerance for the b/s.. I work hard, and I want to work with people with the same level of motivation/passion/integrity!

Aside from that, my girlfriend and I celebrated our 2 year anniversary last night! So, cheers to us! I’ve also been getting a lot of inquiries for work.  I was contacted about a possible lead developer position, if selected it would be a slow transition into the role I think – but even if I don’t get/don’t accept the job it’s still really exciting that so many people are taking interest in me and my skills as of late.

Life just keeps getting better all the time! I’m super excited for what the future has in store for me!

Thanks all, have a blessed month!
